The interim project meeting was held on December 9-10, 2021 in the historical town of Idrija, where we met our partners from Slovenia, Romania and Lithuania for the first time. It was the first live meeting of the project partners.
The project “ReCreate History through 3D, Game Design and Virtual Reality” aims to interest young people in the topic of cultural heritage by means of photogrammetry, creation of 3D models and mini-games.
During the meeting, the partners presented prepared training materials, which will later be available free of charge to anyone who wants to.
The meeting was productive: during it, we prepared a structure connecting the lessons of all topics, consisting of three stages: 1) Introduction (theory), 2) Information (data) collection, 3) Creation of results.
We discussed the upcoming international training for teachers and the testing of the prepared methodology in schools, we made other important decisions.
We had the opportunity to familiarize ourselves with the activities and departments of the host partner, Jurija Vege Idrija Gymnasium. There is also time left to visit the city’s specialty – the mercury mine. It is planned that this cultural heritage object will be chosen for the project’s creative activities.
The next project event will take place in January 2022, in Lithuania, in Trakai, when we will prepare teachers to work with the prepared methodology.
Project partners: Lithuanian Archaeological Society, Šilalė Simon Gaudėšius High School, Jurija Vege Idrija High School, STEP Institute, Predict Consulting, Colegiul Tehnic “Gheorghe Asachi”.
